Various and Sundry

Sure it’s World War II, but can we still use the classics?

One of the kids is currently studying World War II, so I reminded them that dads (not just Baby Boomers) are required to know all sorts of military history. It’s like a Dad Merit Badge. In fact, I think World War II is only the first one.

Anyway, to help dads everywhere earn or maintain their Military History trivia bona fides, check out George Dvorsky‘s article on 8 low-tech weapons and tactics used during the same war that saw the first use of jet aircraft and nuclear weapons.

Sure I bet a lot of you dads know about the extensive use of horses for logistics during WWII –and everyone should know more about the Night Witches— but are your ready to field questions about WWII cavalry charges, trench warfare, and old-school flooding?

Get to studying! One of your kids may have a question this evening!
