I’ve had a chance to check out two trailers that have dropped in the past week, the first being the latest trailer for the long awaited third season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (even as it’s been announced this same week that it’s been renewed for a fifth and final season):
Very much in line with the trailer from a couple months ago, they are presenting the series that, in Pike’s words is “whatever kind of adventure we want it to be.” And they want it to be a lot of different things: tragedy, comedy, pastoral, pastorical-comical, tragical-comical, space-operatical, etc. I was ready for that, but I admit I forgot they have Patton Oswalt as a Vulcan.
I had him pegged as a Tellerite.
Of course, before I could post about these thoughts another, for some of you far more momentous, trailer dropped, even though it was the teasiest of teasers:
There, as they say, goes the neighborhood.
I will join the chorus of online voices wishing 98-year-old Mel Brooks good health that he may fully enjoy the premiere in 2027.
I also would be cool seeing Patton Oswalt in this as well…
