Thinking of last Monday’s post about how to tackle life and its inherent constraints, here’s a video from leadership speaker and business school lecturer Conor Neill that might scratch some similar self-reflective itches.
The video was posted five years ago when the pandemic was in full swing and the title purports to be something for middle-aged folks to ponder, but I would suggest it’s useful for many people. For example, teenagers might not get the same resonance as 40 and 50-somethings, but they’ll get something out of it.
Some of the highlights and sections to look for:
- The concept of a list of life goals… and how secondary goals can take away from one’s top five.
- The value of having discussions with older folks not about advice, but rather how they made decisions at key points in their lives.
- The fact that the world and job market means many, if not most, of us now need to be making more life decisions compared to previous generations.
- And certainly, something to ask yourself: what’s in your backpack?
