I’ve been remiss in my shameless self-promotion, and this one is a treat, because I grew up with a lot of classic Doctor Who and this particular part reminds me of one of the villains you might hear facing off against one of those Doctors. I mean, who doesn’t want to voice an evil -er- a deeply misjudged alien intelligence?
It’s all part of the Audible Visions podcast, which features a variety of shows. This specific one is Cyclone, which gives listeners a wild, alternate 1980s which should scratch various sci-fi itches familiar to Doctor Who viewers, from police states to malevolent aliens and the music by Sophie Rose might give you a Whovian feel too at points. I’m in the last serial of the last season (to date). You can listen to the whole serial, “The Freedom Factory,” but like any good boss battle, you’ll hear me at the end (I believe Hem Brewster and Tap Dancer are part of the sound design making me sound so good being bad).
And, in the tradition of any good Doctor Who villain, one hopes this is not the last you’ll hear of Rhubus. Many thanks for Graham David Richards allowing me to bring to life. LIFE, I SAY!
